Maarten/Introduction

The first thing most people notice about Maarten is his incredible size. He stands 7-feet-3-inches tall, and is built like a strongman contestant. If he wasn't so tall, the first thing people might notice about him is the smell. He doesn't regularly get to take a bath or a shower, so he usually smells about as nice as the detritus of the world he usually finds himself living in. He usually wears a trenchcoat of some kind, a faded DEVO t-shirt, and drawstring pants along with mismatched Converse sneakers and a hat that's been worn and crushed and taken so much various other damage that even he doesn't remember what type of hat it originally was.

As far as what Maarten does day to day, he's a common sight among the unhoused population of Houston, but rather than just living among them and slowly getting crushed by the system, he's out there helping them build better shelters, find better food, and try and prop themselves back up enough to fend for themselves without worry of the man coming down on them.
