On Raven Wings...

Lane was not always so named. He was born a raven just outside of Dallas before Deena Montgomery turned him into a Corax, sticking around just long enough to get him on his feet before taking off on her own business. They stay in touch, but she rarely answers her phone.

A consummate couch-surfer, he's drifted from one group of acquaintances to the next, ingratiating himself to the right people at the right time to get himself the help he needed to get an identity and enough paperwork to back it up.

In Austin he was part of the music scene, singing with a small band that eventually fell apart, but made him enough cash to carry him through to another band. It was Misinterpreted Omens that did pretty well for itself for a couple of years. Their dark, haunting sound appealed to a small but loyal crowd. They were playing small local venues and were gaining momentum. That was until the usual drama and the inability to land any kind of management or a record deal caused some of the band members to give up and split.

Time had come to move on again, and with his bandmates on the outs with each other, he set his sights on Houston as the next stop in his trans-texan tour.
